- ✅ Creating the Channel: The U-blade is inserted into a P or Speed groover. It is pulled along the seam between two sheets of vinyl, removing a thin, U-shaped strip of material.
- ✅ Depth Control: The blade is designed to cut through roughly 2/3 of the vinyl's thickness, leaving a small amount of material at the bottom to ensure the weld rod properly fuses the two sheets together without burning through to the subfloor.
- ✅ Preparation for welding: After the U-blade creates this channel, the channel is cleaned, and a hot air gun (welder) with a nozzle and welding rod is used to fill the groove.
- ✅ Specific Applications: U-blades are typically used for standard vinyl flooring, creating a smoother, more rounded groove compared to V-blades, which are better for more rigid or harder materials.
- ✅ Constructed from durable mild steel, these double-sided U blades are supplied in sealed and oiled packs of ten and can be replaced efficiently and with ease.
